Inkaust powstał w 2005 roku. Zespół został założony przez dwóch Mc's: Maku z Bielawy i Emeste z Ząbkowic Śląskich. Od 8 lat mieszkają i nagrywają we Wrocławiu. Wcześniej w osobnych grupach: Maku w Koncentracji, Emeste w DSD Posłowie, obecnie także Projekt Exodus. Wspólnie też, razem z Katowickimi artystami nagrywali pod szyldem J2B'tim, których nagrania trafiały wyłącznie do Internetu.

W maju b.r. Inkaust wygrał przegląd zespołów hip-hop’owych zorganizowany przez międzynarodowy kampus artystyczny Fama. Za zajęcie 1-go miejsca, jako nagroda, zespół został zaproszony na dwutygodniowe warsztaty do Świnoujścia.

Obecnie, czyli w sierpniu 2009 roku, światło dzienne ujrzała druga płyta zespołu pt: Doba.

Inkaust Koncepcja „Doby” opiera się na 24 godzinach i jest podzielona na cztery części: Świt, Popołudnie, Wieczór i Noc, które są także alegorią 4 pór roku, w ciągu których trwały prace nad albumem. We wszystkich siedemnastu utworach wokalnie udzielają się Emeste-Teusz i Maku. Za całą produkcje muzyczną i scratche odpowiada Kozioł, za mix i mastering Maku, za koncepcje albumu Emeste. Cały materiał został zarejestrowany w Studiu Lampka na sprzęcie wyprodukowanym przez firmę Imbir/IGS Audio.
